Backorder and Special Order ItemsUpdated 21 days ago

At Wargame Portal, we provide access to a wide range of products—even those not currently in stock. These are made available through our Backorder and Special Order systems. Below is a breakdown of how each one works, what to expect, and how to identify these items while shopping.


What Are Backorder Items?

Backorder items are products that are currently out of stock in our warehouse but available to reserve from our supplier network. These items are clearly marked with the label "Reserve Now" across the shopping experience:

  • On the product card

  • At the top of the product page

  • In the checkout process, with additional notices provided

Orders containing backorder items are typically fulfilled within 10 to 14 business days. However, arrival times can vary depending on supplier conditions and availability.

If an item is not fulfilled within 15 business days, or if we receive confirmation from our supplier that the item cannot be fulfilled, the item will be canceled and refunded. The remaining portion of the order will be shipped, if applicable.

If you selected a split-shipping option (e.g., "Ship in-stock first"), half of the additional shipping fee will be refunded if any backordered items are ultimately canceled.


What Are Special Order Items?

Special Order items are products that are not in our regular warehouse or backorder pipeline—they’re sourced directly from a vendor’s website on your behalf. These items are marked with the “Special Order” label and generally follow the same 10–14 business day fulfillment window.

Once you place a Special Order, it’s locked in—even if the item is sold out at the source. If the item is sold out at the source when we attempt to secure it, it will move into a soft preorder status in our system and will ship once it becomes available. We check stock on all Special Order items at least three times daily and have stock alerts set up for almost all sold-out products. We’ve run this system successfully since 2023 and have helped many customers secure hard-to-find items.

If the item is in stock at the source, it typically arrives to us within 10–14 business days before shipping to you, just like normal backorders.

How to Identify These Items

All Backorder tems are are labeled as such in their inventory status area under the product image in the collection tab, above the Add to Cart button on the item page, and in your cart before checkout underneath the item in the cart. Special Order items are labeled with a Light Blue "Special Order," badge that appears:

  • At the top of the product card

  • On the product page

This ensures you’re aware at every step of the process before completing your purchase.
