How to Properly Reattach the Nozzle on Monument Hobbies and Colour Forge Spray CansUpdated 13 days ago

Sometimes during shipping, the spray nozzles on cans from Monument Hobbies and Colour Forge may arrive dislodged. This is a manufacturing and shipping-related issue, not a defect—the nozzles are designed to be removable and are not broken. In fact, this design helps prevent damage or pressure buildup during transport.

To properly reseat the nozzle, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the plastic cap from the top of the can. (ref 2)

  2. Locate the spray nozzle, which may be loose in the cap or packaging material.

  3. Align the nozzle directly over the metal valve stem on top of the can.

  4. Do NOT press down on the nozzle (ref 3). Instead, gently place it on the stem and rotate it clockwise a few turns (ref 4). This will seat the nozzle securely without forcing it. You’ll feel it rest into place naturally.

  5. Do not test spray until you’re ready to use the can. These nozzles are prone to popping off during shipping if reattached prematurely and mishandled. It's best to place them once and leave them.

  6. When ready to use, shake the can thoroughly for at least 60 seconds, then do a brief test spray on cardboard or scrap material.

Note: These nozzles are working exactly as intended. If they arrive loose, simply follow the above steps and follow the pictures below—there’s no damage or defect present.
