Second-Wave Preorder ItemsUpdated 2 days ago

Second-Wave Preorders are a unique offering at Wargame Portal that give you a second chance to reserve hot new releases—but they work a bit differently from our standard preorders. Here’s everything you need to know:

What They Cover

Second-Wave Preorders are typically reserved for limited release items from Games Workshop such as Launch Boxes, Christmas Boxes, and other limited-run products.

  • Constantly stocked kits (regular release items that Games Workshop keeps in ongoing production) generally will not be offered as Second-Wave Preorders.

  • We do occasionally open Second-Wave Preorders for certain kits we expect to have low production runs—for example, Kill Teams or non-mainline faction releases. These are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Timing

Second-Wave Preorders usually go live on our website between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM EST, often on the same day as our midnight preorder launch. These listings only appear if additional allocations or alternate sourcing options become available.

How They Work

Because they are sourced differently from our primary allocations, Second-Wave Preorders:

  • Arrive to us later than standard preorders.

  • Ship later than After Dark launch orders, typically 3–5 business days after the release date.

  • Are treated as Special Orders in our system.

Pricing and Discounts

  • Priced at 10% off MSRP, the same as other Special Order items.

  • Exclusions: PortalPass+ subscriber pricing, Military Discounts, and other promotional or automatic codes do not apply due to tighter margins.

What to Expect

By placing a Second-Wave Preorder, you’re agreeing to reserve an item that:

  • Will be ordered specifically for you from alternate supply channels.

  • May take additional processing time beyond standard preorders.

  • Cannot be canceled once the Special Order is placed with our supplier.

We’ll fulfill your order as soon as the product reaches our warehouse.
