Why We Primarily Carry Warhammer 40,000 ProductsUpdated 13 days ago
At Wargame Portal, we’re passionate about the entire Games Workshop catalog—from the grimdark battlefields of Warhammer 40,000 to the fantastical realms of Age of Sigmar and the classic warfare of Warhammer: The Old World. However, as a small business and licensed reseller, we also have to make strategic stocking decisions based on real-world demand and market trends.
And the simple truth? Warhammer 40,000 dominates that landscape.
Following the Demand
We love that each Games Workshop game has its own dedicated fanbase and passionate community. Age of Sigmar, Warhammer: The Old World, Necromunda, and others are all excellent systems with incredible models and deep lore. But when it comes to what sells—and what keeps the lights on—it’s overwhelmingly Warhammer 40,000.
Despite the excitement generated around non-40K releases, that enthusiasm rarely translates into consistent sales. Stocking large amounts of product for lines that simply don’t move isn't sustainable for us or beneficial to you. Carrying too much slow-moving inventory limits our ability to keep up with high-demand 40K items and limits the resources we can allocate toward special deals, events, and faster restocks.
What About the Other Games?
We absolutely still carry select products from Age of Sigmar, The Old World, Warcry, Necromunda, and beyond. But instead of stockpiling these ranges, we’ve shifted to a request-based model. The good news? Outside of the occasional underproduced kit, most items can be easily reserved through a preorder or special order. If you’re looking for something from these ranges, just let us know—we’ll take care of the rest.
Why This Matters
By focusing our inventory on Warhammer 40,000, we ensure faster fulfillment, better pricing, and a wider selection of what the majority of our customers are actively looking for. It’s a business choice rooted in data—not preference—and one that allows us to keep delivering a high level of service while still making other Games Workshop products available to those who want them.
