The Vault - Model Grading & Value GuideUpdated 2 days ago

We do not publicly disclose our pricing formula. However, the grading tiers below provide a clear framework for how trade-in values are assessed. Models in better condition and closer to factory-new will always receive higher quoted value.

Grades are listed from highest value to lowest value:

Grading Tiers (Highest → Lowest Value)

  • Factory sealed, unsealed is considered NoS

  • Unopened

  • Complete with original packaging
    Receives the highest possible value

New on Sprue (NoS) — With Instructions

  • Fully unassembled

  • Original sprues intact

  • Includes instruction booklet

  • No paint or assembly performed

New on Sprue (NoS) — Without Instructions

  • Original sprues intact

  • Instruction booklet missing

  • Missing spare bits, optional parts, or unused sprue components

  • Must still be structurally complete

Paint & Modification Policy

  • There is NO price premium for painted models, regardless of quality or artistic effort.

  • Painted models are valued for completeness and condition only, not appearance.

  • Models with excessive paint buildup that cannot be reasonably stripped will be rejected.

  • Models containing 3D-printed parts, proxy components, recasts, or non-official replacements will be rejected in full.

Automatic Rejection Conditions

Models will be rejected if they include:

  • 3D-printed or proxy parts

  • Counterfeit or recast components

  • Excessive paint buildup

  • Permanent or non-removable paint treatments

  • Structural damage that prevents resale

  • Missing core components

  • Modifications for magnetic mounting

Final Notes

Final trade-in value is determined after physical inspection and may be adjusted if:

  • Condition differs from what was represented

  • Parts are missing

  • Damage occurred during shipping

  • Models fail eligibility requirements
